Curtiss Republic P-47G/42-25068 "Snafu"

This P-47G, built in 1944, entered service with the U.S. Army Air Force as a training aircraft at the 3rd Air Force in Florida.

It continued its educational role post-war, teaching aeronautical students about hydraulic and electrical systems at Oakland Airport.

The plane passed through various owners, including Jack Hardwick, a former Cleveland Air Race pilot, and appeared in the 1953 film Fighter Attack. Over the decades, "Snafu" underwent multiple restorations and transfers, including time in the Lone Star Flight Museum and The Fighter Collection.

Now registered as G-CDVX, the aircraft was repainted to resemble Lt. Severino B. Calderon’s P-47G from the 84th Fighter Squadron during WWII and took its second post-restoration flight in 2012.
